I will always advocate for choosing a location that speaks to you. Living on Oahu lends itself to natural beauty and a variety of island aesthetics to fit the vibe you’re hoping for, but even more important than palm trees and white sand is choosing a location that fits your story. If you’re visiting Oahu for the first time, absolutely check out this post for ideal photo shoot locations in Hawaii, or check out my instagram feed for the highlight reel. HOWEVER, and those are some big capital letters my friends, if you have a special spot that speaks to you, I want to shoot there. Every time.
For Justin and Sarah, it was this sweet coffee shop in Hawaii Kai, called Island Brew Coffeehouse.
I met Justin and Sarah and their adorable pup Murphy for a delicious treat and a relaxing shoot at the many adorable spaces at the coffee house (including a hammock!). The light started bright and slowly set during our session, creating layers of light and depth to the storyline of our evening.
This sweet family was such a joy to spend time with. I loved hearing about their love story and incredible love for Murphy. It was such a joy to capture these three!!!
Where is a location that helps you tell your story? Is it the beach house you return to year after year, the hotel where your kids played in the pool from open to close, the place where you got engaged? Are there certain aesthetics that encompass the culture of your family? Let me know when you book! If you need help, I’d love to work with you to find the best location for your session.
